Why Fleets Need an Insurance-Approved Tracker
Vehicle theft is a live risk for UK fleets. According to DVLA data analysed by What Car?, 54,830 vehicles were reported stolen in the UK in 2025, about 150 every day. That was an 11 per cent fall on the year before, but still more than double the number stolen in 2015, and a 2025 Royal United Services Institute report puts the rise over the past decade at around 75 per cent as keyless and relay theft have spread.
An insurance-approved tracker is how fleets manage that risk. It supports fast stolen vehicle recovery, it satisfies insurer security requirements, and it can reduce premiums. For higher-value vehicles and many commercial fleets, an approved tracker is a condition of comprehensive cover.
